Overview
This tutorial will show you how to backup and restore your StudioCloud information for your own personal backup or to send to a StudioCloud technician.
When Should These Steps Be Completed
The steps below should only be done in the following situations:
- A StudioCloud Tech has requested that you do the steps
- You are a free StudioCloud account and you want to make a backup of your StudioCloud data
- You are a free StudioCloud account and you want to move your data from one computer to another
Warning For Paid Subscribers
Let the program sync completely one time to make sure that all of the data that has been saved locally has been synced to the cloud. If you do not do this and there is data that has not been synced to the cloud you may end up with duplicate data when it does sync to the cloud.
Warning For Free StudioCloud Accounts
Note: If you have a free StudioCloud account and you do the steps below incorrectly you may lose all of your data.
Step 1: How to Backup your StudioCloud Information
- Click on Settings in the StudioCloud program
- Click the Technical Support button
- Click the Backup StudioCloud To Computer button
- Save the backup to your computer
Step 2: How to Restore your StudioCloud Information
The steps below will complete erase the database and replace it with the backup database. If you are a free account this means that any data will be lost and replaced with the data that is in the backup. This can not be undone nor can your data be restored after doing the steps below. Please make sure that you do not have any information that needs to be kept before doing the steps below. If you are uncomfortable with doing these steps you may want to consider a StudioCloud paid subscription as that will backup your data to the cloud.
- Click on Settings in the StudioCloud program
- Click the Technical Support button
- Click the Restore StudioCloud From Computer button
- Select the backup saved from Step 1
