The Most Common Solution
Note: ICS feeds are only available for StudioCloud users with a paid subscription.
The most common problem that occurs with third-party programs not loading or updating the ICS link is that the third-party program doesn't wait long enough to download the ICS file from StudioCloud. Many studioCloud users have hundreds of sessions, events, and appointments. Third-party calendars often don't expect that many and they don't download the entire file before they give up. The fastest solution is to reduce the number of sessions, events, and appointments shared in the ICS file.
Instructions for when the ICS feed is not loading in a third-party program:
- Copy the ICS link from StudioCloud as explained above
- Open an internet browser and paste the ICS feed link into the browser
- If it asks you to save a file, then it successfully downloaded the ICS file, and the StudioCloud ICS feed is working properly. The problem is in the third-party program.
- If the browser displays an error message please email support@studiocloud.com for assistance
- The problem is most likely caused by the third-party program not waiting long enough to download the entire StudioCloud ICS feed
Instructions for when the ICS feed is not updating in a third-party program:
When you create an appointment StudioCloud automatically updates the ICS feed to have the latest appointments. However, almost all third-party programs have a default refresh time before they update. There are three possible problems that could be occurring:
- The third-party program takes a long time to refresh. Some programs refresh every 5 minutes others can take up to 5 hours.
- Verify how long your program waits before refreshing. Often times this can be changed to refresh more often.
- The third-party program is not updating with the new calendar. (The third-party program is not downloading the StudioCloud ICS feed)
- This may be a result of the size of the ICS file. See how to change the number of appointments displayed in the whole of the exported calendar
- Alternatively, you might parse the calendar into multiple ICS files by exporting specific calendar resource filters
- You also have the option of manually editing the URL associated with your exported ICS file to display more or fewer event items
- The third-party program is updating but it is not showing future appointments.
- The action items listed in item two, above, are a good place to start
- Then export the updated ICS file to the third-party calendar or device application

How to Manually Increase/Decrease the Number of Events in the ICS Feed
The URL that you are using for your ICS feed should look something like http://studiocloud.com/StudioCloudCalendar?id=000000000000 . To adjust the number of events that are downloaded, edit the URL and add &limit=NUMBER where "NUMBER" is the number of events you want to download. Once this edited has been made your URL should look something like http://studiocloud.com/StudioCloudCalendar?id=000000000000&limit=NUMBER
Below are some examples:
- 100 events - http://studiocloud.com/StudioCloudCalendar?id=000000000000&limit=100
- 200 events - http://studiocloud.com/StudioCloudCalendar?id=000000000000&limit=200
- 500 events - http://studiocloud.com/StudioCloudCalendar?id=000000000000&limit=500
