Overview
StudioCloud supports customizing the new/edit client window to only show the client fields that you use. Please note that the changes apply to the client, prospective client, and lead windows.

How to Open The Customize Clients Fields Window
- Click on the Clients component
- Click on the Settings tab
- Click on the Customize Client Fields button

How to Enable/Disable Client Widgets
When editing a client widgets are displayed in the far right of the edit client screen. By default, the widgets shown are the List of Tags widget and the Client Relationships widget.
You can change the widgets by doing the steps below.
- Open the customize client fields window using the instructions above
- Find the Main Client Widgets Header under the Client Fields tab

Below is a summary of each client widget.
- Show List of Clients From Directory Tags
- This widget will list out all of the clients that have the same directory tags as the client sorted based on primary contact. Primary contacts can be changed using this widget by clicking on the primary contact checkbox.
- This widget only displays clients from a Directory Tag.
- Show List of Tags
- This widget will list all of the tags associated with a client.
- Show Client Relationships
- This widget will list all of the relationships associated with a client
- Show Client Session History
- This widget will list out all of the sessions associated with a client similar to the session list under the client history tab

- Click on the Custom Fields tab
- Click the checkboxes to enable the desired custom fields

How to Pre-populate Text Into A Custom Field
Some clients enter the exact same text into the custom field with a few rare exceptions. In those situations, it makes the most sense to have the custom field pre-populated with the most commonly used text.
The steps below explain how to setup a custom field to have Pre-populated text.
- Open the customize client fields window using the instructions above
- Click on the Custom Fields tab
- Enter the desired pre-populated text into the Pre-Populated Text Field

How to Populate The Drop Down List For A Custom Text Field
Some clients prefer to have employees use a drop-down menu for custom fields to avoid mistakes when entering data.
The steps below explain how to build a drop-down list for a custom text field.
- Open the customize client fields window using the instructions above
- Click on the Custom Fields tab
- Click on the button to the right of the List text field to add items to the list, edit them, or delete them.
- The Orange arrow is pointing at the button
- The Yellow arrow is pointing at a comma-separated list of items already entered for the drop-down list. The items in the text field cannot be edited directly. Any changes must be made by clicking on the button that the orange arrow is pointing at.

Additional Options Tab Explained

Insert Into Client Notes Location
- This option allows you to choose where the timestamp and/or employee name will appear when inserted into notes.

Assign Employee To Client Field
- This option, if enabled, displays an Assigned Employee field where you can assign an employee to be responsible for the client.

Client Window Size
- This option allows you to either maximize the client window size or select a small client window.

New Relationship Default
- This option, if enabled, will automatically uncheck the Show Client in Client List box when a new relationship is created, meaning that all new relationships will be automatically set as hidden clients.

Auto Generate Portal Password For New Clients
- This option, if enabled, automatically generates a portal password for all new clients. This password is made up of their last name, followed by four random digits.
How to Preview the Client Window
Select the Preview Client Window button in the bottom left corner of the Manage Client Fields window. This allows for you to view the new Client Window and preview the changes that you have made.
